A human still has to do all of that thinking. OCR speeds up the typing. It does not do the reading.

Picture the same untoleranced 12.5mm dimension. OCR sees pixels that resemble characters and returns the string "12.5" in a balloon. Everything after that is on you. You read the title block, find ISO 2768-m, look up the tolerance band for the 6 to 30mm range, and type plus or minus 0.2 into the Form 3. Repeat seventy times, across four sheets, while keeping the balloon numbering straight.
